Chamber music with an oriental flavour through rearrangement, composing and improvisation, reintroducing the element of ” classical Tarab” within a sufi context.

The term ”Troubadour” in medieval ages comes from ”Itrab wa dour” which signifies in Arabic get carried away with the music and whirl. The dervish in Ateek emphasizes this state of ”Tarab” and marries the visual to the auditory in spiritual harmony.

Despite the fact that the musicians in Ateek come from different parts of the Middle East they have in common their love and dedication for their music hence merging their different styles of expression in harmony to create one spiritual state. Therefore all the different aspects of musical styles whether classical, modern, occidental or oriental from our own heritage will be combined to capture a state of artistic unity giving birth to a new original blend.
